I read The Power of a Half Hour: Take Back Your Life Thirty Minutes at a Time by Tommy Barnett, in exchange for a honest review from Blogging for Books. I was provided with my own hardbook copy to review and this is my own opinion of the book.

The chapters were are written to be completed in 30 minute segments. I believe that time is a gift from God. Time passes quickly and you can't get time back. We honor God by using our time well. For instance when we serve God this is the best use of our time.

This book stood out to me for many reasons and really helped to inspire me in many ways. In Chapter 3, Part 2- this verse stood out to me "God created every person to do a special thing that he need done on earth; and if a particular person fails to do that one thing, then it will never be done exactly the way God intended." Another passage that stood out to me was in Chapter 6. "Other people abandon God because they think they've done such bad stuff in their lives that he would never accept them. That's not true either. That's the reason Jesus died on the cross: to forgive sinners like you and me and of all the rotten things we've done that offend him."

This book was truly a great book. It teaches us to we can serve God, it teaches us how we can strengthen our relationship with God and it's easy to do. Just start with a simple 30 minute routine. Take 30 minutes of your day to pray. 30 minutes of your day to read. 30 to minutes to serve others and allow His light to shine. This helps to make a difference in your life is a great use of the time on earth that he has given us!
